> The fiction room is right at the back of the building, downstairs. It is completely subterranean and was once the "coal hole". (We have given it a coat or two of paint since then.) After having been an untidy stock room for 12 years we cleared it out, fitted shelves and opened it in January 2000 to show off our stock of paperback and hardback fiction. There is a fair selection of detective and science fiction, but the real emphasis is on "good" literature and we think that this is one of the best selections you are likely to find. Is this room haunted? We never quite feel alone when we are tidying the shelves in the fiction room. It is not an unpleasant feeling, just company.
