> The literature room, (so called), is actually only a small lobby between the front two rooms downstairs. This lobby would have been at the bottom of the original small stairs that led up from the scullery to the kitchen. We can just about fit our Shakespeare section, along with other plays, into this space. Literary biography, diaries, letters, and poetry can be found in the history room. More general literary criticism, plus languages, medieval, classical, foreign language and children's literature are in the sciences room. Hopefully it all makes sense to visitors, but somehow we doubt it! > Below is a list of subjects in this room. Click the links to search our online listings, but this is just a tiny fraction of our total stock! Most of our books are only available from our East Hill bookshop. To request a search for a specific title from our onshelf stock, please fill in the onshelf search request form. Happy browsing! >
